We, the volunteers of Irthlingborough Food Bank, are so appreciative of all the food and cash donations that come our way. We would like to thank the churches and schools of Irthlingborough, Woodford and The Addingtons for their continued support. We are grateful for the proceeds from their Harvest Festivals, fundraisers and collections. These gifts always seem to come along when our pantry shelves are most in need of replenishment.

Autumn of last year saw yet another massive food donation from Kimbolton School from their own Harvest Festival. Amazing to have support from pupils from another county! In addition to this, we also receive donations from local businesses, including Sonifex, community groups (Guides, to name but one) and individuals, as well as from the wider public, via the vital drop off points in Irthlingborough and the villages.

Winter is always a productive season in terms of donations and fundraising. December of 2023 saw the food bank revive the Reverse Advent Calendar and, as always, our tombola at the Christmas Fest was a great success, raising a total of £271.09. We were grateful to the teams at Bywater Herring and Blue Moon for doing all the wrapping prior to the event.

As in 2022, The Mowerman (illuminated) Tractor Run was a sight to behold, and the organisers dropped off 3 carloads of food to waiting food bank volunteers. Nene Park Outpatients also gave us a huge donation of food items. This year, thus far, we have received donations from the library craft group, local childminders, and a fantastic £300 from Kettering Lions

Back in the summer of ’23, volunteer Cathy’s young grandson, Jack, while on holiday in the Peak District, told his parents that he wanted to do a 50-mile sponsored bike ride. This he did. In the searing heat! For Irthlingborough Food Bank! He presented us with a cheque for £800. We are so grateful to Jack and all our supporters.

Thank you for caring.
